Just One Drop

Series:
Passage: Hebrews 9:11-14
Service Type:

In the 1860’s and 70’s there was a lot of preaching on the blood of Jesus which launched some powerful miracle evangelists like Maria Woodworth Etter and it accompanied great hymns birthed at that time like “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus” and “There is Power In the Blood” .

This carried strongly through for 100 years into the 1960’s and 70’s, but it has been somewhat lost in this current day, but we need to bring back the emphasis on the blood.

By why this focus? It was because the blood of Jesus was so precious.

When the Holy Spirit overshadowed the virgin Mary, He put in her a pure incorruptible seed from the Heavenly Father and that seed carried a pure blood line that was full of the cleansing, healing power of the Father.

I want us to think about the shed blood of Jesus,

  • the blood that was split when he was whipped with 39 stripes,
  • the blood that was shed when the crown of thorns was pressed into His head and
  • the blood that poured out when the spear was trusted into His side.

This precious blood was gathered up by the angels and taken into heaven when Jesus ascended to secure for us our redemption forever.

Hebrews 9:11-14 New Living Translation (NLT)

11 So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. 12 With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
