Who has seen the movie “Step-Up? Well this message has nothing to do with it. It is interesting that Spiritual growth doesn’t occur without taking steps of faith. If you think you will grow by just attending church, you are sadly mistaken. Attending church is of course vital to your growth as we are instructed by the Lord through the Apostle Paul when he wrote in Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. But there are other factors that are need in order to grow spiritually. Ephesians 4:11-13 New King James Version (NKJV) 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; So it is my calling and responsibility to teach and equip you for the work of ministry and until we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to perfection, to the same measure of the fullness of Christ the Anointing.
There is a law of growth which the bible refers to in many areas. It has also been referred to as the law of progression. As in the natural the law of growth occurs when something is nourished, i.e. it is planted, watered and fertilized, it grows. In the spiritual area growth or progress is the process of being transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus.
As a general statement and an opening remark I would like to say, we are not here to focus on fighting Satan because he was defeated by Jesus when He descended into hell and disarmed Principalities and Powers making an open show of them, but we are here to fight the good fight of faith. 1 Timothy 6:12 New King James Version (NKJV) 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. There is a reason why we are told to fight the good fight of faith, because we fight by using our words of faith and it is by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony that we overcome and enter into the promises of God for our lives. Last week we looked at Daniel 11:32 (NKJV) 32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. We know that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
